10 cases from Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children

10 people at the Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children (LRH) have tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday (26).

Director of LRH Dr. G. Wijesuriya speaking to News 1st said these patients are 07 children and 03 mothers.

He said there is a considerable increase in the number of patients visiting the hospital and said the positive cases were reported after conducting immediate PCR tests.

He urged parents to pay extra attention to their children’s health.

Lady Ridgeway Hospital for Children (LRH) staff members are not in harm’s way, he added.

WHO says it hopes to introduce a COVID-19 vaccine by January 2021

"There may be some COVID-19 vaccines available by the 1st quarter of 2021, for the most vulnerable groups in the world," the World Health Organization said.
